Dearna's Canberra Visit

In October 2010, we spent out last night in Moggill with our neighbour, Dearna.  It was a rather boozy night but great fun was had by all!  Amidst large quantities of wine and Tia Maria, we managed to get out our diaries and decide that the weekend of 14 January would be a very good time for Dearna to come and visit us in Canberra.
December came around and Dearna booked her flights and we had another visitor to look forward to!

We collected Dearna from the airport on Thursday afternoon.  She arrived with a niggling little cough which, unfortunately, developed into quite a nasty bout of flu.  But in the short time we had Dearna with us, we were able to show her some of the beauty of Canberra.

Dearna's also a keen cyclist, so we headed straight for the bike hire place on Saturday morning to get her a bike.  We spent the better part of the morning cycling around the lake and into the city.  Really just such a great way to see the city.

A quick stop at The Australian for a Blue Tongue Light - I have not idea what was so funny!

Dearna took us out for dinner at one of the local Italian restaurants in Kingston.

We took a drive to Mount Stromlo and popped into the bushfire memorial.

I love this pic of Scott & Dearna!

We found these enormous dandelions which took all Dearna's breath away!

Tellin' time - I think we're going to have to get all our visitors to pose for this pic!  I've got one of my Mom in exactly the same position!

Another great shot of Dea & Scott - guess who commandeered the camera!

We spent Dearna's last day with us picnicking under the cool shade at the park down the road.

It was wonderful to spend such great quality time with Dearna and can't wait for her next visit!  Anyone else want to come and visit us....?  ;-)
